Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development and implementation of innovative mechanical engineering solutions to meet project requirements
- Oversee the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses to optimise project outcomes
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers, technicians, and project stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols
- Continuously research and implement new technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance efficiency and productivity
- What we're looking for
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 8 years of post-graduate experience in a senior mechanical engineering role, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing sector
- Proven track record of leading the design, development, and implementation of complex mechanical engineering projects
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Proficient in the use of CAD software, simulation tools, and project management applications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Thorough understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Adaptable to changing priorities and able to work under tight deadlines
